About KEGG Pathway

Kyoto Encylopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) is a database that provides information on bioschemical pathways and networks that exist within cells. It provides a collection of manually curated pathway maps that show the interaction between genes, proteins and small molecules involved in various biological processes.

KEGG Pathway database is a valuable resource for researchers that is studying on biological pathway and netrowks. It can be used to identify potential drug targets, to understand the mechanism underlying disease processes and to predict the effect of genetic mutations or environmental factors on cellular processes.

Arabidopsis thaliana is also known as thale cress, mouse-ear cress that is a model organism in plant biology. On 2001, 34 glucosinolates were identified from the leaves and seeds of 39 different Arabidopsis ecotypes where most of them are chain-elongated products originated from methionine (Kliebenstein et al. 2001). All of the compounds can be assessed from SuCComBase together with latest studies conducted in exploring new GSL compounds.
